Buffalo Clubbing

Have you ever wondered what goes on the at the Buffalo Club on Broadview Street in Toronto? Me, too!
The big sign on the front of the building says: Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffalos Lodges and Clubs. There is also a smaller sign that says, Open Daily, 11am. Everyone welcome. I’ve always been tempted to check it out and, on Oct. 10 (Thanksgiving), I’ll finally have the opportunity.
It turns out Toronto real estate agent, Megan Sheppard, is also curious about the Buffalo Club and has included the property on her upcoming Riverside Past, Present and Future Walk (during which time the hall will be open for refreshments so nosey neighbours, like me, can sneak a peak). Tales and tours of St. John’s Mission and bakery, the Opera House, the historic Broadview Hotel and many other landmarks of interest will also be featured on the two hour walk which wraps up with cocktails at the County General on Queen Street East. I can’t wait!
Walking tours that cater to a to a variety of interests happen once a month (during the warmer months of the year) in Riverside, introducing both Riverside residents and visitors a glimpse into what makes this little neighbourhood so loveable. Stay tuned for a great lineup of Riverside walking tours in 2016: Beer Walk, Fashion Walk and Garden Walk are just a few ideas the Riverside BIA is playing around with.
Walking tours are free and are always led by knowledgable and passionate local residents. The Past, Present and Future Walk starts near the DVP (625 Queen East) on Oct. 10 at 11am and ends at 1pm at County General. I can’t think of a better way to spend some time this Thanksgiving weekend, exploring my neighbourhood, and hope to see you there!
